- Software project manager and architect
The need
Ingenico's AXIUM DX8000 range combines, in a single enclosure, an Android device with its app store and a secure payment terminal. The merchant takes chip, contactless or QR code payments on a six-inch touch screen, over 4G, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. No product on the market offered this at the time. Two certification frameworks, two delivery pipelines and several teams across the world had to converge on one machine.
The solution
- 01
Software architecture of the product, and definition of the interfaces between the Android core and the payment core.
- 02
Led a team of more than 40 people across several continents.
- 03
Common delivery procedure for the product's 350 software components.
- 04
Technical trade-offs between the requirements of the two certifications.
The outcome
Product delivered with both certifications, Google and PCI, and sold by Ingenico as the AXIUM DX8000.
