The need
A lithium battery cannot be driven without a reliable state-of-charge estimate and constant dialogue with the vehicle controller. The same software had to manage batteries in parallel, on electric vehicles as well as leisure boats.
The solution
- 01
Led the design office: five people, developers and electronics engineers.
- 02
Object-oriented software architecture in C, on a microcontroller with a real-time system.
- 03
State-of-charge algorithms, drivers and CAN messaging.
- 04
Batteries in parallel, and integration on vehicles and boats.
- 05
Debugging on the CAN bus, on the customer's site.
The outcome
BMS integrated on electric vehicles and leisure boats, batteries in parallel included.
